Crock Pot Turkey & Butternut Squash Chili



1 lb. ground turkey or Our Own Recipe Chicken Dinner Sausage

1 onion, diced

1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes (regular or fire-roasted)

2 c. cubed fresh butternut squash

1 jalapeno, minced

1 (15 oz) can pinto beans

1 (15 oz) can black beans

3 tbsp. brown sugar

1 tbsp. pumpkin pie spice

1 tbsp. chili powder

1 tsp. cumin

Salt & pepper to taste


Brown turkey or sausage in a skillet over medium heat, stirring until crumbly and no longer pink.  Drain off any fat. Transfer meat to crock pot and add all remaining ingredients.  Cover and cook on low (at least 6 hours)
