1 quart oysters and liquid with them
1 cup water
2 stalks celery
1 cup undiluted evaporated milk
2 cups whole milk
Lump of butter
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1/8 tsp. pepper
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1. Cut up celery fine and boil it several minutes in water.
2. Add oysters and the liquid that is with them; boil until edges curl.
3. Add milk, butter and dry ingredients.
